Partnerships
Senior pupils conducted a 'What Club Are You In?' survey to find out about physical activity opportunities in the local community. Our school acknowledges physical activity effort and success both during school and outside of school hours
St. Aidan’s GAA – Football
For one term each year a member of our local football club, St. Aidan’s GAA, visits the school every week to offer ball skills training to all the pupils. They put a smile back on our faces when they presented our school with a range of sports equipment. We received soft balls, footballs, basketballs, skipping ropes and a parachute.
The senior pupils travelled to the Connacht GAA Air Dome in County Mayo for a fun filled day of football skills
Parents Association
Our Parent’s Association plays an important role in supporting the partnership between the school and the children’s parents. They support the school by organising activities and events for the children and parents, and to fundraise where possible. We were thrilled when they provided us with a rounders kit.
Four Roads Hurling Club
Many of our pupils are members of the Four Roads Hurling Club.
Pupils from 2nd to 6th class enjoy hurling sessions each Friday.
There was great excitement in our school when members of the Four Roads Hurling team came to visit our school after they won the Senior Hurling Championship final. The children had lots of questions and were eager to find out ways of becoming a better hurler.
The children look forward to hurling training each Friday with Killian and Donal.
Tag Rugby
Thanks to Darin from Connacht Rugby for providing tag rugby sessions for the pupils in our school.

Cycle Right with Roscommon Sports Partnership
CYCLE RIGHT is the National Standard for Cycle Training and provides practical cycle safety and skills training to promote competent and confident cyclists. CYCLE RIGHT is an inclusive programme.
The children were enabled to take part in this programme thanks to Roscommon Sports Partnership and the support of parents.
Rinka
Rinka offers fitness and wellbeing classes to children all over Ireland and helps them fall in love with movement. They show kids that it’s not about being the best, it’s about feeling the best. Classes are fun-filled, energetic and child-centred and focus on three areas: Strong heart, Strong body, Strong mind. Thank you to Lauren for facilitating classes in our school.
Sports Stars
We were thrilled to welcome Niall and Darragh Murray to our school. The Murray brothers are part of the Connacht Rugby team. They spoke to the children about the importance of being active, eating healthily and continuing to practice skills for your sport.
We were honoured to have talented Galway hurler, Cathal Mannion, visit our school to present county medals to our victorious hurling team.
Road Safety Authority
Karen from the RSA gave us all practical and helpful road safety tips to use when travelling by car, bus, public transport, walking or cycling.
